When you cast alongside each other, probably two of the most versatile veteran actors in the industry today, the people are sure to be left mesmerized and waiting in anticipation to see the magic unfold on screen. After a long 26 year period, Amitabh Bachchan will be playing Rishi Kapoor’s father. This can be considered to be very ironic considering that in their previous ventures together, they always played the role of a friend; be it the 1990s superhit movie Amar Akbar Anthony, 1981 hit movie Naseeb, Coolie or Kabhi Kabhie.
This movie is based on Saumya Joshi’s Gujarati play ’102 not-out’, where Amit ji will be playing the role of a 102 year old man and Rishi kapoor would be playing the role of his 75 year old son.
It is definitely going to be a treat to see the two veterans back together on screen. Each one has their own charismatic personality and have made a name for themselves in the industry for years together. After scintillating and memorable performances in iconic movies like Agneepath (1990), Agneepath (2012), Kabhi Kabhie, Sharaabi, Saagar both these living legends have portrayed tremendous talents, vigour, grace and poise on screen, which was immensely enough to attract millions of fans.
The rapport these two actors share on screen is a real treat to watch and recently Rishi Kapoor tweeted saying that he feels blessed to be cast aside Amit ji after 26 years in the industry! This is going to be a film filled with power-packed performances by the two veterans.
That’s a guarantee! Where else would anyone witness such an amazing casting on one screen, both at the culmination of their talents and are easily two of the finest and versatile actors Indian Cinema has ever seen.
