Smriti Mandhana, the latest crush of the nation winning the hearts of cricket fans all over the world. The latest youth sensation surpassed the popularity of Disha Patani with her cute smile and amazing charm.
The Indian cricket team, busy playing the Women World Cup 2017 won all their three group matches so far. Smriti Mandhana was the top scorer in the first two matches, and became the Player of the match. She is gaining large amount of fan following with her amazing cricket skills.
A new revelation about the left handed batter comes to light through Smriti Mandhana’s coach Anant Tambvekar. He revealed her favourite player who tries to copy. He said:
Smriti was very lively since her childhood. But at the nets, she was extremely disciplined. She never used to leave the nets unless she had mastered a shot. Later on, she became a fan of Kumar Sangakkara. In the nets, she always tried to copy Sangkara while batting. Sometimes I had scolded her for trying to copy the Sri Lankan great.
After scoring a century against West Indies, Smriti called her coach and talked about the technical mistakes she made in the game. Her coach is not getting tired to praising her said:
Smriti has not forgotten me yet. After scoring the century in the group league match in the World Cup she called me from London, asked me whether she had made any technical mistake during her century. I did not expect a phone call from her. She always pretends nonchalant. Last week also, after scoring a century in the World Cup when Smriti called me, she was as usual nonchalant.
We wish all the best to Smriti Mandhana and our team playing World Cup.
