John’s next on Pokhran nuke test
`John Abraham, the bollywood hunk, is all set to take the producer’s chair again. He has already produced movies like ‘Vicky Donor’ and ‘Madras Café’. Up next, the actor’s production company, JA Entertainment, has tied up with KriArj Entertainment, founded by Arjun N Kapoor and Prerna Arora for the project. The movie is based on the nuclear test conducted in Pokhran in 1998, and will showcase John Abraham as the lead actor and Diana Penty as the female lead, with Boman Irani featuring in a special role.
The movies is tiled ‘Parmanu- The story of Pokhran’, and is based on the five nuclear tests carried out the site during May 11-13, 1998. The movie will tell the proud tale of our country’s army, scientists, engineers and satellite experts who were the part of this historic moment after which Rajasthan declared itself a nuclear state.
The shooting schedule has begun and the Pokhran site scenes will start from June 14th. The shooting at Pokhran of Jailsalmer district will continue till June 23, and the crew will reach the location on June 12. According to sources working on the movie, the shooting will be done at various locales in Pokhran. Pokhran Fort, the main market of Gandhi Cheek, Aada Bazaar, RTDC mid-way and railway station at Gomat, are some the main location for the shooting. The shooting required making security arrangement and permission from the security agencies, and everything has been sought. The movie is directed by Abhishek Sharma, with Saiwin Kadros and Sanyukta Chawla Sheikh having worked on the script. The scriptwriters have earlier written the script for the sensational ‘Neerja’.
John Abraham was quoted, “I have never been in a hurry to produce films. I have been reading and searching for subjects that are disrupted yet engaging, stories must resonate with current social, political, economic mood of the county and finding stories that reflect this takes time, this film is perfect with my pursuit.” The movie comes out in the theatres on December 8, 2017.
