‘Sultan’ Bagged An Award At Shanghai’s International Film Festival

There are very few movies that creates an impact on the audience which lasts forever. The audience is totally in a trance after watching certain movies. One of 2016’s biggest blockbusters ‘Sultan’, starring bollywood’s bhai Salman Khan crossed over 600 crores worldwide and did unbelievably well at the box office. Sultan probably did this well because it was solely based on the life of legendary boxer and MMA specialist, Sultan Ali Khan who won the UMC championship in 2010. This was seriously a masterpiece by Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman as the main protagonist in the story.

This movie was shortlisted in the very renowned and prestigious Shanghai Film Festival in the Best action movie category and also won the award for the same. This has got to be the proudest moment for the director and for the entire bollywood film fraternity. The most special aspect about winning this award is that this Salman Khan starrer is the only film to win it in China. This is a huge milestone for Indian cinema to go leaps and bounds ahead.

‘Sultan’ director Ali Abbas recently told a leading media portal about his excitement and expressed his feelings about the award and what efforts were taken to make the movie a huge success. He said that the whole cast and crew are extremely happy with all the love and respect they had got at the Shanghai Film Festival. It made it all the more special receiving the award from a superstar like Jackie Chan, under the action category and genre. Jackie Chan has been a real inspiration to millions of kids around the world.

Sultan was a power-packed film that had every element in the right place and at the end, produced a film that totally deserved every bit of praise and awards that it got, including the award at SIFF.
