Suncare is one of the most important protective measures every person has to be concerned about today. The sun is a very important source of energy and extremely important for all life on Earth, but it does come with a few bad effects. The UV rays emitted by the sun can be extremely harmful to the skin and can also cause skin cancer and other dangerous diseases if proper care is not taken.
Thankfully, some of the best scientists in the world have developed SPF-30, which is a chemical that is manufactured in the form of various sunblock creams and lotions. However, there are some very important Do’s and Don’t’s that have to be followed with suncare.
Do’s
- It is advisable to apply a sunscreen lotion or cream almost everyday of the year, preferably SPF-15 or greater. This will create some kind of barrier around the skin and reflect the sun’s harmful UV rays.
- It is highly recommended that people apply sunscreen everytime before they go outside. Maximum benefit occurs when the SPF is absorbed completely by the skin.
- Before purchasing any sunblock cream or lotion, one must look for a seal of approval to ensure that the bottle is from a trusted brand and of supreme quality.
- Apart from using sunblock creams and lotions, one can also wear sunproof clothing, certain fabrics that reflect sunlight rather than absorb it. This is another alternative to using sunblock creams and lotions.
Dont’s
- It is pointless to assume that a water-resistant sunblock cream would last longer. They will eventually wear-off after a bath. So it is best not to go for these kind of high-end formula creams and stick to the regular ones.
- People assume that in winter they are safe from the sun’s exposure. But, the fact is that the sun rays are present even during winter season, and can penetrate even umbrellas and other forms of shade. So be careful and adopt similar preventive measures for suncare during winters as well.
- It is highly recommended to apply sunscreen on the whole body, not only on the face.
