The upcoming movie “Lipstick under my burkha” has already gone through lot of trouble because of censorship. In the beginning of the year the censorship board of film certification refused to give certification of the movie, it’s directed by Alankrita Shrivastva and now it is preponed once again due to box office clashes. The movie was produced by Prakash jha was premiered in Tokyo and Mumbai festivals received a positive response.
The CBFC didn’t want to certify because “The story is women oriented, their fantasy about life.” Also they have content which includes sexual scenes, abusive words, audio and pornography. Also has a sensitive touch about one particular society.
When asked to the producer about the movie Mr.Prakash jha he said, “My film celebrates women and it is good to see more films being made by and about women. It is a first sign of change. Women oriented films should change the perspective of the film industry.”
After all this chaos the movie gets a release date, but the trouble is not ready to leave the film it seems. Apparently due to box office clashes they have shifted their release date.
The lead actress of the movie Konkana sen and Ratna Pathak are waiting for the most awaited movie of theirs. The movie was scheduled to release on July 28th on the same day as Arjun Kapoor’s Mubarakan and Shraddha Kapoor’s “Haseena: The queen of the Mumbai”, but now the movie will release in July 21.
Many of us don’t know but “Bareilly ki Barfi” starring Rajkumar irani, kirti sanon, Ayushmaan khurana was also set to release on July 21 but now even that has been postponed to August.
Hope “Lipstick under my burkha” doesn’t go through any more trouble and moves smoothly in the box office.
